    I have got sky+

When I want to record a program, I press record and everything works ok.

However, if I then want to change channel and watch something else, no can do. I have to be on the same channel as I am recording or it doesnt work.

Any ideas on how to fix this ???

Was the box installed correctly? As there are two tuners it requires two LNB cables connected to the box and you need to be receiving signal on both. Use the signal test function on the "services" menu to check.

If only one cable is working/connected it would not allow you to change channel without cancelling the recording.

That, among other problem, happens with my Sky+ box occasionally. I usually find turning it off and/or unplugging it and plugging it back in solves the problem.

Afraid that the turnong on/off and plugging in/out doesnt work for this problem.

i'll have a go at the signal test later on tonight.
