    Hi
I've been commissioned (by my mother) to get a nice photograph of tulips now that they are in season
any ideas of where should I go to get some nice ones?
I've seen St Stephen green have some, but I was thinking on a slightly larger scale (not sure what I want to be honest, I'm only a bloke...)

The People's Park in Dun Laoghaire is a good spot. Got some good ones there before...

Possibly a tad early? I was up at Powerscourt on Monday and all the tulips there were well and truly closed, as are the ones in my garden. I wouldn't think it'd be too long before they're out though.

You'll get a good few rows of them in the bots in a couple of weeks, I'd expect. Was up there 2 weeks ago and half of them weren't even through yet.

    thanks everybody!
I'll have a go at the memorial, it's not far from my place

the yellow ones were all open in the centre bed in st stephen green, too much for a good pic

holland is what I'd like, but I'll have to compromise, this "commission" isn't paying with other than a nice dinner

if you're down towards the east link, there are a good few tulip beds across from the Maxol/Ford garages at the end of Sean Moore Road.

They are slightly less opent than this (taken in the same place)

they are only yeards from my house, but I haven't managed to get them yet

Jaysus Thirdfox thats an excellent DoF shot :)

(ok I do have a weakness for DoF shots!)

Thanks! Just shows what you can do with a consumer f5.6 lens :)

Of course I'd get more DOF with f2.8 but I think it looks pretty good (the bokeh that is) already...

I second that. The peoples park on the southern end of Dun Laoghaire always has a great selection of tulips, all colours.

A single tulip can be impressive.
Easily found in any garden at the moment and best photographed just
after it has rained and the sun comes out.
