    Hi,

I'm just trying to find out the rep of this place. My car is dead - engine decided to go to wherever it is that engines go. I like the car (Estima) and as the rest of the thing is fairly sound I want to get the engine sorted. I've heard of this place in Dub that puts in reconditioned engines for around 2k.

My question is; has anyone else on here had dealings with them and how did they find them? etc etc.

    Riv

Not sure how relevant this is, but I used them about 10 years ago to supply and fit a reconditioned gear box. Never had any trouble with it.

Good to hear :) I rang them today and they seem sound. I just might run with it. Beats pushing the car around the place - very hard on shoe leather :D

They generally turn them around fairly quick. Dont know anything about the standard of engine or workmanship. Is your own engine completely f*cked or could it be repaired?

Was it anoverheating problem? I had one myself which died like this.
I had the head done twice and bottled when it came to spend out for a new engine

I have a friend who is looking to get a new engine for his i would appreciate if you posted about how this works out for you.

I had mine for 3 years and it was a great car but was a bit of a money pit.
I would love to get another one but the engines in them ,or rather the cooling system, seems to be a major problem .Have you seen the Estima owners club ? Lots of good info on there, and a few irish owners .
Might be worth posting on there for info.

When the engine died my mechanic took a look at it and came to the conclusion that a new engine would be the way to go. There's no bs with him, if he reckons it's dead then it's dead.

Anyway, at the time I didn't have any cash to spare yadda yadda and now that the auld family fortunes are looking a wee bit better; I'm sick of looking at the bloody thing. It's time it earns its keep! :D

I don't know what killed the engine. It all happened very quickly. Check engine light came on - sudden loss of power - limped over to the side of the road - almighty bang followed by black smoke. It was totally unexpected, the car gave absolutely no hint at all that there was anything wrong.

Thats exactly what happened to mine .I had it checked over and was told it was due to overheating cracked head and also did some damage to the 'big end'.Anyway i sold it as was.

I would be interested to hear how you get on good luck with it!

I left my car in,, engine went,, cost 2k and got it back with the petrol guage fuct and no speedo..
Their answer is "we replaced the engine, not our problem", my take is, those faults where not there when you got the car.. So its thanks for 2k,, now pay more to fix what they broke.. I started a line check of all the electrical connectors, first one I checked was not connected right, the one for the speedo sensor is broke off.. bag of ****e,,, now I have to leave the car back to them.

    NOT HAPPY!!!!
