    Hi

A group of us normally travel to Livigno in the February time of the year. We are hoping to go on the 28th December for new years eve this year and there are a group of us going but are worried about going for New Years eve for nightlife.

Could anyone advise please of a resort, that there are plenty of Irish, and good night life for a group of Late 20's/early 30's, that has good skiing and has is cheap enough to - maybe someone could recommend a resort and accomodation that would be suitable for groups!!

    Thanks

You could try Ischgl is Austria. I have skied for many years all over and along with Livigno it was the best place to party, although dont know what would be like around New years. We went in Feb this year and had a ball, flew into Friedrichshafen with Ryanair (€5 each way!) hired a car which was again very cheap, and drove up. We stayed in an appartment complex which worked out at €40 pppn ! But I'm affraid I cant remember the name, got it on a search of 'apts Ischgl'. One of the best and indeed cheapest ski trips I've been on :D

Just remembered apt name - 'Gradiva' . Only five minute walk to town and lifts.

It's a very popular time to go away due to the extra "free" days holiday that everyone gets around then, but the prices will go up accordingly, so I doubt you'll have a problem anywhere with finding plenty of apres/ New Year options. Livigno is very popular with the Irish as well so depends on who you want to be hanging out with around then?

    Also try here.

Have emailed the apartments that you stayed in and waiting to hear back from them.

Have to say - finding it really hard to get somewhere with a good availability. Looking like the only thing available for us is Andorra, and I dont particularly want to go there.

Time will tell though, cheers guys. Thanks for your help

TBH you are finding it hard because they are just recovering from the 07/08 season, it will only be in the next few months that there will be more availablity...

You do still have ages to get yourself sorted. The christmas/ new year weeks will be the first to get booked up and for this higest prices, but no need to worry too much about booking just yet.
