    I s it a possible to remove that because if the post was someting that needed important to know it was editedl ike someone posted lotto numbers r sometin n edited them. Thanks. Jus annoys me

    Wow I typed that a bit too fast lol. What I was trying to say was if someone wanted to check was a post edited maybe click view single post, rather than have it plastered everywhere.

    What is it you are asking? Is it the "Edited by: ..........." message you think should be removed? If so, why?

    Because it's nobodys business if my post was edited, why is it so important they need to know? I dunno what I'm talking about anyway. why is it you can edit the post quickly and it's not displayed, but you edit it a few minutes later (maybe to correct mistakes) and the stupid message is displayed?

    Because it's nobodys business if my post was edited, why is it so important they need to know?
    Suppose, for example, that someone posted an argument of a point. You counter argue. Original poster edits his post changing small but important details, claims you're an idiot and putting words in his mouth. You have no come back except to say "but thats what you did say".

    Showing the post edit time gives you some backup, as it would be easy to see that the post was edited after you posted. As can everyone else.

    More importantly, it shows *everybody* looking at the thread/debate that the post was edited after it was quoted.

    It's also useful for cases where mods edit users' posts. Instead of having tonnes of "What happened to my post?" threads, users can clearly see who, when (and sometimes why) their post was edited.

    I don't find it irritating in the slightest.
