Hi, I'm looking for any advice for a friend who is in the market for a new camera? I've no idea. I know he wants to possibly be able to develope big pictures, maybe up to A3. I don't know if this is too little information, but any info is a start

    Thanks

In general terms a DSLR will almost always be better than a bridge model, however the practicalities of life have to come into the equation.

Nobody here can give reliable advice unless we know at the very least what your friend wants to shoot and his/her budget.

    Hi Nilhg,

I know my friend wants to shoot buildings and statues etc, still life. Mainly for art reference shots for drawing. Bugdet would be up to 400euro

    Any help?

Others will be much more expert than I on this, but I believe that it's very difficult to get geometrically correct photos of buildings without some quite specialised equipment, of course if he just wants a general reminder of the subject then its easier.

I'm not sure if either of the models you've named will be available at your budget, for €100 more you could get the e510 (I posted a thread with details earlier), I know its an older model but for your friends needs I think it should be OK.

My friend has deceided to buy the SP-570uz, a relation of his is going to the US and he's hoping to get it there.
