Hi, I'm getting married in July and we are really stuck for somewhere to go on honeymoon?
We both want 7 nights relaxing by the pool, close to beach, some activities etc.
Somewhere in the Med?. Flight time less than 8 hours?
Ideal location was Sharm El Sheikh but we feel it will be much too hot in July
    Approx cost <1500 each?
    Any recommendations?

Congrats on wedding. Maybe have a look at Goa? Slightly over eight hours to fly but will be inexpensive when you get there and weather is nice in July. Oman would be nice too although pretty hot in July.

Thanks:), Yea,was looking at Oman but seems to be very hot in July aswell, I never really taught about Goa, will look into it further. We were looking at Cyprus?? Might be too touristy? if thats a word.

I've got to say I'm a fan of Crete but it will be hot in July. You could also try some of the Greek Islands, its been a while since I was there but Paros and Santorini are both very nice. I dont think Paros has an airport (I could be wrong but I think Santorini does so you may have to fly to athens and then fly on from there). I think everywhere in the Med will be quite lively at that time of year.

XL http://ie.xl.com/ fly direct from Dublin or Cork to Santorini on Tuesdays. Stayed in Kamari in October and loved the island.

Was in Crete last year in July, would not normaly go that time of year but we had a family wedding, there had been a heatwave the week before we went out but the temps had gone back to the middle twentys when we got there and it was soooooo lovely, its not that horrible stickey heat and was well able to sunbath.
Try the North of Crete its not as touristy and its much more beautiful,Almridia,Chaina area is lovely
Have a lovely Honymoon and a lovely life.

The Greek islands are definately romantic and the sunsets in Santorini are gorgeous. Would it be fair to say that the level of accommodation in Greece and the islands is a bit below that of spain? I'm sure for 1500 euro apiece you could get top notch accommodation though

We were in Piskapiono in Crete two years ago at the end of September. Climate was lovely about 25 every day , I think it stays like this October too. You can snorkel off the beaches , there was a kinda reef about 100 metres out and a few nice fish to be seen (nothing compared to tropical climates though). The quads are great for getting around on. Didnt go scuba diving but the water sports are good.

I don't know much anything about Cyprus but I've booked my last 3 holidays based on tripadvisor reviews and I have been extremely pleased with all of them.
    I'm sure it'll be perfect.
