Guys,,,after a lot of reflection over the last couple of days, I have decided that 1 or 2 cars is enough for anybody, especially after reading some other threads about how out of hand collecting can go and affect people and their families . At this point I have not only 4 Renault Cars, but also a Classic John Deere tractor, plus a shed full of toy models
    ENOUGH IS TOO MUCH.

So here we have it--time to let go.
You will know my 4 cars from the other Renault 17 Wanted thread,

    Renault 16,
    Renault 15
    Renault 18
    Renault Fuego

If you have an interest in a particular car, contact me.
Not all will be sold----Firsts come etc etc.

Er, may I gently enquire whether there was also a woman involved in the decision making process...?

If so, you must introduce her to my ex. They'd get along grand. :D

What model cars have you got? I'll buy the lot if your interested in selling.

Yes there is woman on the scene,,but she knows me well enough at this stage. I have to say that in this case I am doing this for myself.
I can see myself ending up with so many cars, its no longer fun!

I have a couple of ideas in my head.

    1. SELL ALL THE RENAULTS AND BUY ONE REALLY NICE AND DESIRABLE CAR,,,RENAULT 8 GORDINI/ALPINE ETC ETC.

    2. SELL THE 16 ONLY AND KEEP THE REST.

    3. Keep the 16 only.

So guys,,I'll be in Durrow with the 16,with a FOR SALE sigh on it.
Feel free to drop over and say hello.

    Hi John,

Any chance of as many pics as possible of the 16? Thanks!

    Option 1 or 3 IMHO...

A nicely sorted 16 can be very nice. I see a lot of them still around on the roads in France. I saw one a few months ago near Limoges with a rough body and a diesel engine - I asked the chap about it and he said they'd dropped in a 2.2 'gazole' from a renault 20! Every panel was a different colour but it looked like an ongoing project for him...

The 16 is a really sorted car---Its had £9500+ SPENT ON IT before I got it.
Its just that we havn't really bonded as its older than me,,,whereas the rest of the cars are of my time. I had a Fuego when I was 20.

Serious money, i understand what you mean about the bonding thing though, some cars you get,and some cars you dont!!Maybe we are all a bit mad:D

I've been through this and came to the conclusion that two classics is the ideal number provided you have the storage space - we don't have that many really good classic driving days and with two cars you should always have one ready to go - there's nothing more frustrating than waiting for a part and having a week of really good weather. It means that you can take your time over the bits and bobs that have to be done from time to time. The 'worse' of the two can be driven when the weather's not great and take to shows where its likely to get scratched (Terenure College every time I've been there )

Although, being honest, I'm down to three classics and if I'd buy a lot more if I had the dry storage space for them.

I've garage space for 2... and even so only one is garaged and the others live outside. I've dry storage for another 2 in a barn, but one of the times I left a car in there for a short time the steering wheel was eaten by mice so I would rather leave them outside.

I reckon if the shed was huge it would still be full!!I have garage space for three, and the others are stored in a friends barn, though i would like to have them all under one roof!Hate leaving them outside in the weather.

At the moment I have one in my garage, one outside the garage covered, one in my dads garage, and one in a barn of his covered.

The 16 is a rare enough car and is unique in its own right.......the engine is different to the other renaults and some parts dont interchange with other renaults. In my opinion I would keep the 16.Very few of them around in Ireland..............Let me know if you sell it pls.....mite be interested in another 16 :D
