    Quick question

What's the crack likely to be for this?

Is it a wristband lottery like on the rest of the tour and if so what's the likely timeframe on the day?.

    Thanks

In my limited experience, some Greasy Lake fan - perhaps not even Irish - will take it upon themselves to start numbering people and taking names. You check in every hour - so you can go for a coffee while you're waiting - but if you miss two role calls you're out. For the second bout of Seeger Sessions shows, there were no actual wristbands, but staff were happy enough to let people in under the self-directed numbering method.

It was the fan-run numbered system last December in Belfast, though we did get wristbands early enough (around 2pm) and had to be back at 6, but that may have been because they didn't want people outside the place for hours on end.

So I'd imagine another fan-run system at the RDS

    Thanks for the replies.

Can I just clarify, is this fan run numbered system based on first down on the list and so on, so the higher your number the better your chances.

Or, is it the case that there is a number drawn off the list and the first admitted are those holding consecutive numbers after that particular number, ie number 279 drawn, and those holding 280, 281 etc become first in line.

The American system is to draw random number and then let them into the pit (ie, if number 26 is drawn, 26 and the 250 or so behind him are in the pit)

The European system is simply the first 250 or whatever into the pit (ie 1-whatever the limit is get into the pit)

he does'nt really have a pit over here, up in belfast they were doing a numbering system that was not really enforced, when we got in there was no pit so people could just get up pretty easy, the same with all the seager session gigs in the point. they have a fan run thing that is a bit of a joke, they give you a wristband and a number and then do hourly roll calls, the problem is everyone fecks off for half the day and then appear just before time to go in so the people who arrived after them and didnt know you could leave and come back are expected to let them by. probably should be first come first serve, you have to stay. in the point there was a bit of hasle outside with people not letting others past, i remember aiken security saying that if you didnt want to let someone pass then you dont have to. in the end it always seems to be pointless as there is never actually a pit and its always easy enough to get up the front, just be there from around 3pm and you will be up the very front.

There was a pit in Belfast. I know because some drunk guy tried to get my pass, jumped over the barrier and got taken off by security. It was a big pit too

sorry you are correct, there was a pit in belfast, forgot that. yeah your right it was massive , took up half the standing area, the reason i forgot about that was beacuse it was so problem in getting into it because it was massive
