    Thats a great amp imho.

    Ohms...

If a head gives out 300w @ 4ohms then you'll need a 4ohm cab to hit that wattage. Which you'll not hit cause you will never drive your rig that hard.

Heads are usual rated at various ohms. Like

300w @ 8ohms, 600 @ 4ohms etc. You'll need to match your cab to the rating you wish to achieve.

    If a head gives out 800w @ 4ohms then you could connect two 400w 8ohms cabs(1x15 & 4x10) to hit the 4ohms load and thus produce the 800w @ 4ohms.

    Hope that helps.

That combo is hitting 36kg which would be a heavy weight to carry etc. Breaking it up into head and cab just makes things easier. Plus you could bring a solid state head/hybrid head into studio and run it into the desk with the need of cab for recording. You can add a cab onto a combo but sometimes the amps in the combo's will not take the load etc. So you should try get a rig that will outdo your current setup, that way your less likely to be back her in a years time saying I need a bigger rig etc.
