You can get a 500GB hard drive for around €70 or €80 though.

forgot to mention 3gb of Ram as well , Raid support in Bios and it will do Raid 5 with an extra disk added for which it has space and if you install the AllRaid 'special' Vostro Bios :)

    Its €398 including delivery

Got this for €171 from elara a couple of weeks ago. It's a good deal but there's a few things to consider.
    1) It is loud, twice as loud as a normal desktop. PSU isn't too bad but fan on heatsink and system fan are like hairdryers
    2) 2mb GFX is pretty ****e, not suitable for a home system by itself. However there is a pci express x 16 slot so you could add a proper gfx card (currently have an nvidia 6600 in mine)
    3) No onboard sound.

Bios is also quite limited but I've run windows server 2008 on it and Ubuntu 7.10 fine.

It's an ok deal but i regretted buying mine on impulse and put it up for sale.

The extra ram is overkill if you just plan on using it as a file server but raid 5 is quite nice.

Im considering buying one of these as I have a Ultrium 448 SAS and have a PCI Espress SAS controller but no machine with a PCI express slot!

what other options have i, rather than this

I bought a few of these a while back. It more money for a better all round spec. Less RAM (which can be added) and warranty but a better processor.

    Works out at €239.58 delivered.
    They're really quiet aswell.
