    Hi all,
I want to hire a wedding car (classic Aston Martin) from NI. I saw elsewhere that there could be an insurance problem, because it's a hired car.

Anyone have any info on this?

Apart from anything else a 26 county driver driving it in the 26 counties would render the car liable to confiscation by the revenue and the hire company wouldn't like this.

I don't see a problem really - you can rent a car from NI no problem - for example - if you landed in Belfast and wanted to drive home to Dublin you can rent a car from a hire co and there's no problem driving it in ROI even if you're an ROI driver.....

The weding car hire company would probably have to have insurance that covers the whole island of ireland similar to regular rental co's - but you might want to have a chat wtih them.....

Hi. Could I ask if you hired this car or not. If so where did you hire it from ?

    Hi there.
No, in the end, I didn't hire the car. A family friend with a big classic car 'volunteered' (insisted!) that he drive us, which he did and it all worked out well.
