Used to be ipoker, but the fact that they have invested absolutely nothing back into their product, despite being one of the fastest growing networks out there, really started to piss me off. Their software is an absolute shambles and they don't give a f***.

So now I play on cake poker, games are really soft and I like their stance on third party software.

PS for Tourneys and iPoker for cash. But am ditching iPoker so looking for a new site ... Cake poker? Will check it out. What levels do you play Daithio (so I can avoid you!).

I was on PS since last May and finally got totally sick of it.. I have never had so much bad luck as I have in last month. my AA etc getting destroyed by stupid hands. Every time I was ahead I was guaranteed to get outdrawn.. was just sick :(

I have some on cash on Full Tilt, but been on GJP this last week and not having half the bad luck as stars.. I hate stars totally at the moment lol.

I'm playing very little online in the last while. It's not as much fun for me anymore. Too many nits :) When I do play it's usually pokerstars and occasionally iPoker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

$100nl on ipoker is just a reg-fest at the moment...even with table selection its hard to find a table without 4 of them. Playing a bit on Everest. Might have a look at Cake sometime soon....good RB and fish is a hard combo to find!

exact same to all of this

although I do think cake's software is pretty bad too

Interesting how even giving how much stick ipoker gets and some people saying theyve moved on elsewhere that theyve still got such a big %, does that mean that its lots of negatives but also lots of positives or that there is just no alternative?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,615 ✭✭✭Mr.Plough

iPokah and stars although I'm playing a minimal amount until this degree is out of the way.

Think I'm gonna check out everest and cake though. What's the software like for multitabling?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

Party is still the biggest fish pond out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭RedJoker

100nl 6max on cake was a bit of a reg fest too when I used to play it.

HU is incredibly soft, 100nl is the lowest HU level so it's just insane how soft it is.

Software is crap though. Bet pot button can't work out what a pot bet is. Auto post blind has to be turned off and on at least twice before it'll work properly. There was a period of time where I wasn't able to rebuy, kept on going into the play money part, incredibly irritating. Every update seems to break something else too. Not a huge amount of traffic except for peak times.

I stick to party for 6max at the moment. SEABEAST said it pretty well; once you have "the ability to accept that you are going to get screwed, over and over, by anything that has to do with how their software or company is run, there's a lot of money to be made there."

I'm not planning on playing much, if at all, until exams are out of the way though.

Does the softness of the party games make up for the rake rapeage at small stakes and no rb though?

Wow feel so old, no Prima or Crypto options in the poll.

Back when I started out Prima, Party and Stars were the only games in town.

Edit: going blind also there is a crypto option.

I'm thinking about moving from stars(apart from tourneys).

Anyone recommend somewhere that has an account based in €, good rakeback, signup offers and plenty of Omaha selection

    Cake do this?

Party let you keep your funds in €. No RB but I get about €600 back a month from points and reload bonus but I'd be a high volume player for their site. Personally I think the softer tables make up for the lack of RB. Not everyone likes the software but I don't mind it at all.

Entraction is where it's at for European players looking for cashgames from what I've heard. Based in € and soft as pop, plus exciting games. Not sure if it supports Pokertracker though, which is a big negative.

And does Party really have a harsher rake at small limits than other sites? Never noticed.

im pretty sure it's because Paddy Power are on iPoker/were on Tribeca and poker players really are creatures of habit. Most people, including me, don't make an effort to really find the best sites/networks for their needs.

Does Cake or Stars accept Laser yet?
    Hardly.

A way around this is to deposit onto Neteller using your Laser and then deposit onto Stars.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,201 ✭✭✭Macspower

I'm still on i-poker ... but i think the reason is that it still has a good fish pool despite regs.... it gives a big % in loyalty (rakeback)..... all my 3rd party software works well with it...... i can tile 9 mini views nicely on my screen without overlap...

maybe other sites will do the same but I have yet to find one.... interested in suggestions....

I love stars... but lack of rb
Party I hated and no rb
prima was terrible but good rb
full tilt is too tough for me
everest was v good but tougher now and poor rb...

    Mac

I quite like the software, but my requirements would be quite different to most peoples' on here. I find it's easy on the eye, it plays quite quickly, and they haven't tried any funky experimental table layouts like betfair for example. The lobby is also easy to navigate and it refreshes itself very quickly. That used to do my head in on ipoker. I've yet to have any lag or disconnection problems there over about 15k hands. I used to get booted out about every 15 hands on ipoker, so that's pretty refreshing.

All that said, I'd rarely if ever play more than 3 tables at a time, so I probably haven't really tested it to its full capacity. Also I'm sure the fact that you can't resize tables bothers alot of people, but it doesn't really affect me.

I have read a few threads about their awful support which is a worry. That's why I stopped playing on full tilt; I was locked out of my account which had lots of $ in it at the time (feels like a long time ago now!) for a week with no word and no response to any of my emails. By the sounds of things cake's support is pretty awful also, which makes me worry a bit about how rigorously they monitor for collusion in the PLO games, which is a big worry with the fact that you can change your username once a week. Ie, it makes it impossible for the players to monitor the games themselves.

All that said, the PLO games are softer than hot butter on there at the moment, so if there are people colluding they're not doing it very well!

is there any other sites besides party that support accounts in yoyos?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,513 ✭✭✭RoadSweeper

    Some Ipoker sites

    Noble, PPP, VC etc...

Think crypto have $,£ and €

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

Pretty sure Microgaming, Boss, B2B and Ongame all support euro accounts.

    Hardly.

Im still on gjp but getting tired of the lagging problems and the huge mtt fields.

Moneybookers lets you use your laser card to deposit on stars directly, got to withdraw to your bank a/c though ---> moneybookers ----> Stars or get a cheque from stars.

The network appears to be quite small, how busy is Omaha there and to what stakes?

It's not massively busy, but during peak U.S. times you'll normally get a couple of tables each at .50/1 through to 2/4. Then maybe a couple of shorthanded games going up to 10/20

I'm at iPoker at the moment but the regular connection problems due to the softwares shocking handling of intermitent packet loss is really getting to me now. I think I'll just stay there until college exams are over in May and then re-evaluate where to play for the Summer.

Cake looks to be getting good reviews at the moment and I don't actually mind the inability to use third party software there!

Yeah I feel the same. The IPOKER software is absolutely rubbish, I could not deal with playing for extended periods on it. I felt bad at the time as Id rather give my rake to mike than anyone else.

LOL It wasn't just the software!!

When you said you were going to play 100k games in a month I wanted to stake all my life monies against it. :D

I have contacted cake support several times about this and that and have always got a reply within 2 hours, don't know were you are getting this information from but I certainly don't have any problems with them

p.s some of the bad beats on cake are pretty sick, i've never seen the likes!

It does for me at the moment - I don't play a huge volume and wouldn't make that much in rakeback/bonuses anyways. If I get a chance to play more often I'll prob move for RB alright.

I also really like their software, I'v never had any problems with it. I play NLH cash there, and everything else on stars for liquidity. I used to play on ipoker but found the software and constant disconnects really frustrating, and their attitude to disconnects ("it's you, not us") annoying.
