Hey guys im thinking of selling 40gb and getting the 60gb ... my friends ps3 bust the other day with the same problem that a lot of people seem to have.

so my friend is selling his 60gb and has no high street reciept. do you still have a guarantee with sony or whats the story?!

any personal experiances with this would be great!

    no receipt ,no gaurantee.

Sony are fairly good with guarantees on the ps3 ,but they insist on a receipt.
I've had to get a 60GB sorted and the receipt was the only way to do it.

Credit Card or Laser statement with amount debited from shop bought will be good enough in some cases.

Is that the piece of paper in the packaging. I would advise him to read it as I proof of purchase may be required.
How long has he had it, previous owner? 1yr is the standard guarantee.
