Does anybody know how to take the lid of the new type toilet cistern. Its one that has the central flush in the middle of the lid.
I cannot see where it is held down. It is not like the conventional ones where you just lifted the lid.

Remove the flush buttons (hold one down and take out the second, and then remove the other, they should just lift straight out) there should be a screw visible where the buttons were. unscrew this and the you can remove the lid.

The flush buttons themselves might be threaded, and just screw out anti clockwise...

this can somtimes be hard to get moving as there is nowhere to grip.

I have used a pair of pliars with an old rag around the teeth to grip the button. worked fine.
