According to Comingsoon.net,Walt Disney and Pixar have announced their next 10 CG animated movies (up to 2012):

    WALL.E
    Bolt
    Up
    Toy Story 2 in 3-D
    Toy Story 3
    Rapunzel
    Newt
    The Bear & The Bow
    Cars 2
    King of The Elves

Also there will be 4x straight to dvd movies about a farie called Timkerbell and one traditionally animated movie called "The Princess and The Frog"

    Descriptions here.

The odd thing for me is a sequel for Cars (3rd lowest grossing movie) but no sequel for The Incredibles (2nd highest grossing movie)

I thought Rapunzel Unbraided was a Disney film... did Pixar take over production when they came back to Disney?

It was certainly looking visually interesting the last I saw of it.

Probably cause Brad Bird directed Incredibles and wont do a sequel..and seeing as Pixar respect Brad they wont do it without him or his blessing.

    *also*

    *cough*
The Walt Disney Studios unveiled a diverse and ambitious slate of 10 new animated feature films from Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios to be released through the year 2012 at a New York press conference held today by Dick Cook, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, and John Lasseter, chief creative officer for Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios:

Well, that explains why they won't do Incredibles (and thats fine enough, I wouldn't want anyone besides Brad Bird to do the sequel and if he wont do it then so be it), but why would they do a sequel for Cars, I thought it was terrible.

    *also*
fixed my first post, but I can't fix the title, sorry :o

I wouldn't call Cars terrible. It was still miles ahead of most of the CGI dross out there... it was just exceptionaly poor for a Pixar film.

Yeah cars didnt do it for me. Incredibles 2 would be a film that id want to see badly.

the year cars came out I actually thought alot of other cgi films outdid pixar

Over The Hedge and Happy Feet were both better then Cars

as was the under rated Monster House.

while the first run of Cars was a bit of a relative let down, after numerous reruns it really is a grower, think a lot more of it now

    Can't wait for Wall.E :D

Yeah Monster House was very enjoyable. Steve Buscemi & Jason Lee (He's a scientologist :() voicing is alway good.

Looking forward to Toy Story 3, they were great movies.

I cant believe ive still not seen toy story 2...

As for Cars, i watched it for the first time over christmas, and i have to say i really enjoyed it.
The fact that i didnt enjoy The Incredibles also seems to set me apart

I cant watch Name is Earl anymore because of that. I like the show. But i cant watch it .

It REALLY puts me off people. I dunno why. And I've been a big fan of Lee's since Mallrats.
Even Carrie out of King Of Queens wouldn't get it because of that. By which I mean she wouldn't get it as much as she would if she wasn't a scientologist :D

Cars wasn't a terrible film. It was still enjoyable and looked beautiful. Granted it wasn't on the same par as say Toy Story or other such movies, but it was far from terrible.

I can't wait to see Wall-E, will be interesting if they can succeed with the first ever semi-silent CGi feature.

Not all of those are Pixar movies...
Bolt, Rapunzel, The bear and the bow and King of the elves are Disney Movies.

    The correct pixar movies are

    WALL.E
    Up
    Toy Story 2 in 3-D
    Toy Story 3
    Newt
    Cars 2

I liked Cars more than Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo and the Incredibles.

Ratatouille is still their best by far tho and is the only one that I would pick up again and again. I doubt it will ever be beaten in terms of quality.

Yeah sorry about that, I misread the start of the article, and when i found out, I couldn't change the title of this thread.

Cars may not have grossed as much at the box office, but it completely blew the others away in terms of merchandising revenue. Pixar might be a super-fun imagination-factory and whatnot, but theyre still all about the bottom line

I think Up looks the most interesting and imaginative of the bunch, but I will still be extremely excited about WallE and Toy Story 3 (and I'm really glad the latter returned to Pixar after Disney threatened to go it alone).

And I'd agree that Cars 2 is a promising prospect, as the first one was still great despite all the negativity it attracted. Still think it was multiple miles ahead of most other CGI animations, and with a second chance I can only imagine things will improve.

(Good to see some Monster House love too - its like The Goonies meets My Neighbour Totoro, and is every bit as funny, exciting and enjoyable as that sounds. Shame it got a more limited release than other less worthy examples, but I think it has built up a good following since.)

I agree that we should be careful to distinguish the Pixar from the Disney projects.

Bear and the Bow is in fact a Pixar production. Looking forward to Newt directed by Rydstrom (Lifted).

As for Cars, I would not put it in the rarefied company of my Pixar favourites (Toy Story 2, Ratatouille, and The Incredibles) but I found it was still entertaining. I would not have chosen it for a sequel but this is Pixar so I wouldn't put it past them to blow the first one away. John Lasseter commented that in the sequel "the Cars are going international" so maybe they'll have a Schumi inspired villain that we can all hate on.

The Incredibles is amazing, I'd put it up with Batman Begins as the best comic book/superhero movie ever, its just fantastic from start to finish

I wasn't bothered with Cars, just didn't appeal to me!!

Toy Story will have me in the cinema in a freakin shot, **** children nowadays, Toy Story 3 is for US dammit! We were kids when the first and second came out!!

The Incredibles is one of my favourite, sad to see there'll be no sequel but if Bird won't do it, nobody should
