A very big thanks to all the fighters coaches and supporters from Galway and around the country that made the trip to the Black Box for the show yesterday. It was another packed house and the match ups were exciting from start to finish.
Another very big thanks to a couple people -
Dave Jones - for calling it straight down the middle as always.
Andreas Lovbrand, John "The Moycullen Scumbag" Walsh and The Shane for judging the matches, a couple tough decisions on the card yesterday and I though you all did a great job.
Waquar for providing top class medical support.
Andy Ryan for the use of his cage, perfect for the venue and impressed all the fans that came along.
Sebastien, Tony, Noel, Tomas, Premo, Rafal, John and Rory for their help putting up and taking down the cage.
Colm O'Reilly because he always gives him grief for not thanking him and especially for telling me I was a match down as a "joke" hours before kick off :)
Dave Moran and Iarlaith Larkin for their death defying camera work.
Siobhan Leonard, for helping out on the ticket desk despite it being her birthday!
Sean Leonard for his French announcing, translation services over the weekend and time keeping at the event.
Mike McDonagh and Darragh Kirwan for keeping the fights running so smoothly right through.
Huge thanks to Mark O'Toole for all his help at the weekend, for ferrying the French Fighter and coach around on Saturday, conducting the weigh-in in Galway, bandage work before the show, and a host of other jobs I imposed on him.
Lastly a very big thank you to Michelle, without whom I could never keep track of anything that happened yesterday, and putting up with me all week during all the stress events!
    And finally, the results!
Any corrections that might need to be made please mail me.

Big thanks to Mark for hosting Spartan MMA fighters on their debut - as you'd expect from Mr. Grappletastic, a fantastic show.

I see the curse of my predictions has hit again, as I didn't see Tim winning, and certainly not by submission. Mick was gracious in defeat and Tim was humble in victory. Anyone else want another rematch?

Gary's slam on Paul was well cool. Fair play to Paul for hanging on to the triangle. I was screaming at him to underhook Gary's leg (I didn't know I was shouting against a fellow boardster at the time) but he didn't hear me.

Well impressed with Michael Devlin's grappling, very fluid and fast.

Loved Matej vs Adam - was a slobberknocker of a fight!

thanks Colm, as ya know i love the big pick ups and slams, always a chance to cause substantial damage, obviously it didnt cause that much this time, how high did he go?? haha

but thanks to Colm for the mention in his post, big thanks to Mark for having me on the card, much appreciated, but the biggest thanks of all is to Paul "red bull" Cowzer(cowzerp to you boardsters) for all the coaching, training, motivation and direction in everything i do, cant forget Glenn Bailey too, hes the unknown of our camp and never fails to push me harder than i think i can do on the pads, and all the lads for there help and sparring partners in Rush Fight Academy, we're on the up and up lads. we'll get there lads........

Mark will have the DVD for sale soon no doubt. :)

Obviously I didn't get to see all the fights but I was particularly impressed with Paul Alyemer, he didn't look like somebody who's only had a few fights. The slam was pretty sweet by Garry too it has to be said. Great fight.

Another awesome performance from The Cannon, looked pretty unstoppable.

Great show, I had a few people at it who were new to the sport and they seemed to be quite impressed. Fair play to Mark (and all his minions on the night! :) )

Ha you caught me holding the pad up to Steven's eye when he was having his hand held up! I felt stupid, the doc told me to hold pressure on it, and when I took it off so he could get his photo taken the cut started pouring so I slapped it on again straight away. Next thing I know his opponent is walking him round the ring, with me after him like a lapdog holding this yoke on his eye! I felt a bit silly.

I'd be interested to see how the " Knee him in the arse,Knee him in the arse,Knee him in the arse,Knee him in the arse,...etc" bit comes out on the video

(and I thought pool was the only sport where a recent loser suddenly becomes an expert advisor to the next man up:confused:)
