recently my ps3 has stopped working , its the 40 gb model every time i have a issue with it the background turns red... its currently seems to not be reading the blu-ray discs which are in immac condition ! anyone else have this issue ?

Do a reset settings in system menu, if that doesn't work use backup utility to save your gamesaves, PSN games to external drive and then system restore.
