Liability Insurance for sport?

    Hi there.

I've read through the charter, and I'm not defaming anyone, or holding a court in contempt, so I think it's ok to ask this.

Me and a few friends want to rent the basketball hall in the local family recreation centre for a 1 hour game. They say to rent it out we need liability insurance. They don't offer it at all, so how do we go about getting it?

    Thanks...

Excellent, I looked through that link, to O'D-O'N, from what I gather, I'll have to get my friends together and register as a club, with set amount of members. Do I have to register each person, or is it just the case that I get a policy for 12 adults, and once only 12 are participating, we are covered?

I get the feeling from this quote that they think I own the sports hall we are using. I'll probably have to ring to find out exactly what's up.

Is €325 the expected amount for standard cover? I'm going to shop around of course.

Don't know, sorry. I'd shop around - I just linked that as I know Triathlon Ireland take insurance seriously given the risks in the sport. Its a bit strange that liability insurance is not a feature of the building costs etc.
