    Hi,

I am new to TEFL. How much is the average rate per hour?
One site is quoting €18 which I thought was low but maybe that's high?
I am a secondary teacher (Music) with TEFL (fully recognised) qualification.

    Thanks,
    Steve

€18 is low but most are in and around the €20 mark , although if you can land a VEC one you'll get Department teachers' rates.

It depends on a few different factors. Your experience and the likes. if its only a short term contract they may give you €20 ish. if it is garunteed work for 2/3 months it could be lower €19 ish.

In the VEC you could get to as high as 40 euros an hour.

For certain ESP courses, in private schools you can be looking at 25 an hour.
