    Hi all,

Just a random question have a SE v800 and when a copied music file is on the phone, it wont allow it to use the song as a ringtone or alarm.

All the options are unhightlighted and if you try, it gives the message

"DRM protection key missing" cant remember if thats what it was word for word but it was similar.

    Anybody??

    Cheers,
    J

The phone is probably still a Vodafone branded "v"800
If you change the firmware on the phone to Z 800, it removes all such restrictions

The V800 only allows songs that have its digital rights "dm" associated with the mp3, you just need to move the mp3 to dm format.
Theres a sony ericsson that allows this, google "Sony Ericsson DRM Package"
