I'm need to buy a new TV, I have read the various threads on here about tv's and it's left me totally confused between HD ready, full HD, 1080p etc etc.

I'm looking for a 32", it will be used with Sky digital. It will also be used for a PS3 or Wii in the future. I would prefer to buy it in powercity or did rather than online.

Can any give me any pointers? Thanks.

tv screens have pixels that make the picture. hd ready on an LCD is 1366 X 768 pixels (horizontal X vertical)

    full HD is 1920 X 1080, also called 1080p.

at 32" its going to be an LCD, plasma only starts at 37"

at 32", the difference the full hd pixels (resolution) makes over hd ready would be very hard to notice as the pixels are so small to fit them into 32"...

for regualr sky digital you really do need a good tv or else the Sky picture will look a bit ropey. i'd recommend Panasonic for LCD.

what sort of budget did you have in mind??

I got mine online (komplett.ie) for €560. It is a Samsung 32inch. I'm very pleased with it. It connects to my Sky box, DVD, Digital Camera, PC and the whole set-up was easy.
