Game in Tallaght are selling pre-owned 60GB PS3's for E329.

Snapped one up today, 1 year warranty with the store.
Comes with 1 6 axis controller and HDMI cable, no games.

60GB's are backwards compatable and will play PS2 games as well.

The asking for a 60GB on adverts is around E370.
With this you get the 1 year warranty with a bricks and mortar store!

Was in Dundrum last night and Game have boxes in the 60GB boxes in the window marked at €329 as well.

Dunno if they have stock but it's worth a phone call!

Perhaps they are selling these at low prices to make way for a new SKU?

Well they're preowned so I doubt there's a sell off and more that their system only has new PS3s for €400 and so second hand are €329.

I would guess the preowned 40gb are the same price? Nice deal on the 60gb though.

Aren't they bringing out an 80GB version soon? Maybe this is the reason. Great deal though. Especially because the 60GBs are backward compatible.

This is possible. There are rumors of the 80gb version of the PS3 coming to Europe this year.

    Agreed.

As desperate as I am for a BC PS3, I'm going to wait for the off chance that SCEE listens to its core consumer base and brings out a higher spec'd SKU (thats "steel" colured one would be the icing on the cake).

    im in the same boat.
the definitely need to launch a dualshock3 sku at some point so im hanging on for that at present.

sony, do you read this? release a sku that does BC, dualshock 3, and a large hdd out of the box and you can have my money.

    /waves money at sony

    What's a "SKU"? And what's "BC"?

edit:: Oh wait is "BC" backwards compatible? Still leaves SKU though

Stock Keeping Unit, general term used in the retail world, means a new package to sell.

So a PS3 40GB would be one SKU and the old 60GB model would have had a different SKU.

Why's it so hard to google? That was the first hit.
