I rang up sky today to downgrade my subscription here's some of the conversation !

me:hi i want to take sports and movies off my sky package

    sky:why?

me:because i hav nt watched sports or movies in years and no point paying extra 40 euros extra a month

    sky:do you not like football?

me:yes but like to watch matches in the pub!

sky:but it would be cheaper if you stayed at home and watched it there over the course of a month!

me:true but i enjoy going to the pub with friends to watch football!

sky:how many matches do you go to watch in the pub?

me:as many as my wife lets me go to!now can you do that for me please!

sky:that could nt be good for your health! too many nights in the pub drinking!

this went on for about half an hour untill i lost the head and eventually got what i wanted!!anybody else have something similar with sky???

    :D:D

I've been thinking of getting rid of sky sports for a couple of months now. I got it for the football but over the last few years I've become completely bored with it and hardly watch football anymore. I think I've watched about 5 matches this season, if that, which to me means it's a total waste of money keeping sky sports.

I'm not going to put up with what you did though. If they ask me why then I'll politely repeat my request, ignoring their questions.

    LOL
That guy must be on a negative commission for every sub downgraded or lost.
Should have told him you want to support your struggling local and help him pay for his Sky business sub. If not enough people use it he might have to cancel. And now with smoking ban and long walk to the pub, you are getting more fresh air than staying home drinking and smoking.

You should be worried that too much TV is bad for your health:D:D:D

AAAHHH the health giving properties of a Sky sub - isnt that Guinness territory?

had a similiar situation a while back with a lovely girl with a cork accent. no matter what i told her she kept coming back with questions like what channels do you watch.. please hold the line.. then came back again. eventually after 25 mins of constant back and forth with the questions, i told her look please cancel it or i will have to have no option but to go down to cork myself and press the cancel button on her computer for her!

No. I cancelled by letter and sent it Recorded Delivery so they knew I was serious and so I had a record of what I'd asked for. Then I had to write again to tell them to stop sending me that darn magazine and "please come back" letters, week after week. PITB.
