can anybody recommend any good make up courses in dublin?

becoming a make up artist is all i can think about, especially for the last year. I have a hons degree in electronic engineering but now work in a bank :( i only did my degree just for the whole college experience which was great.

i love make up and want to take it further.

    cheers

    bb

I'd love to do it too!
I also work in a bank and have a financial maths degree.

I looked into it and thought this looked good:
    http://www.scd.ie/make-up.htm
    It's a proper 1 year course.

    There's also this:
    http://www.lamakeupacademy.com/main.htm
    Look at Module 3 here.

    and this
    http://www.portobelloschool.ie/pagecarrier.aspx?pageid=45
Don't confuse it with Portobello College, nothing to do with it!

    Hope that helps!

I believe 'cosmetic engineer' is the PC term these days.

i'm not sure i could commit to a full time course as money would be an issue, the la academy looks interesting.

    i've requested a brochure

I am a make up artist not to put you off just dont give up your day job just yet to rush in to make up artistry the work is quite scarce starting off it takes a while to build up your portifilo, skillls and confidence but best of luck if you take it on just keep working in the place your in first and maybe start off doing just a basic make up course first there are different levels

The course in SCD is brilliant. I was in college there doing the Holistics course. They have the friendliest staff who are really dedicated to their jobs. From the 1 year CIBTAC course, you can progress to CIDESCO for a year after that and then you can follow through that with Theatrical & media Make up which looks like brilliant fun!!

    Still a makeup artist...

OP, you're best off doing one of the courses about.

I do a bit of work for The Make-Up Room, there's a good few choices of courses to choose from in there, and a number of other areas.

I'd also look at what area of make up you'd like to specialise in - There's plenty of specialities and styles out there.

If you didn't mind going back to college, you could always look at the degree course in IADT?
