    Hi there

I have a Samsung Home Cinema system. Rear speaker communicate with the unit via a wireless receiver. RHS rear speaker is fine, but LHS speaker doesn't seem to produce sound other than something like static/noise. Have checked all the connnections and they seem fine.

    Any advice?

    Bump?

If this isn't in the best place, perhaps a Mod could move it somewhere more appropriate?

    Cheers.

All home Cinema systems have a test tone function which sends white noise to each individual speaker for level adjustments and connection testing.

Run this check that the sound on the screen of the system corresponds to the speaker making the noise (i.e if it says RR speaker make sure the sound you are hearing is actually coming form the Rear right) could be that you hooked the RL up the the rear centre accidentally hence the hiss but no sound if you have it set to 6.1 and don't have a rear centre speaker in place.

If you don't hear anything at all either the wiring is incorrect or the amp is faulty, or in the unlikely event you have a DVD player with individual line 5.1 sound outputs to line level inputs there may be a loose connection between the DVD player and the amp.

Thanks Victor M. Will try the test and see what happens. There is no separate standalone amp-just DVD player, subwoofer and 5 speakers.
