Thought I'd post this up here. A friend recommended this book to me so I picked it up when I was in the US. Very decent book about a naturally talented left guard who was pretty much homeless until he was looked after by a wealthy family.

Yan read about the book and Oher here

I didn't really warm to the book, the Oher story is interesting but the motives of the family that took him in seemed a bit off, especially the way he ended up at their alma mater. I think they were cleared after an investigation by the NCAA but still. Having said that, the chapters that dealt exclusively with the historical development of line play and of left tackle in particular are very interesting, I liked that part a lot more than the Oher story. In general I found the book a bit of a drop off from Moneyball or Liar's Poker.
