I had an interview for a job in a shop a few weeks ago... at the interview they seemed really impressed with me and offered me the job straight away. They told me the procedure was that id have a 3 hour training day in the shop, i could leave any time during that if i felt i wasnt suited to the job and if i liked i could stay on. So i did the training day, learnt to work the till etc really quickly, was even left on my own briefly and got on grand. I was polite to customers, didnt mess up at all, got on well with other staff. When I was done I asked when I was in next and they said theyd call me. They gave me a uniform, told me to bring in my bank details next time and to buy the right shoes. Thing is it's been over a week and no word! I dont have a number for them because they always rang me off private. Should I look up a number for them and ring? I dont wanna be too pushy.. but I turned down two other job interviews because I thought I had this one.. and I spent 50 euro on the shoes for the job!! Im real paranoid that i did something bad without realising and they dont want me back!!

I dont think its unreasonable to look up the number and give them a quick call. Or even pop into the shop.

like you say they did everything good on the training day and they seemed to like you - maybe they have just been busy and have not gotten a chance to call you.

give them a call - it will also show that you are also interested in the job:)

    good luck :)

Pop into the shop and ask them what the story is.

PM me the name of the shop or recruitment agency (and a rough location) and I'll see if I can get the number for you (it's a quite weekend).
