iPod Touch Qeury Re Transfering Tracks

    Hi,
I have an iPod Touch which is set to manually manage music.
I want to be able to copy all my music off my Touch to my Macbook in work.
If I try to do this, I can't. I don't get the green 'bubble' thing when I attempt to drag my mp3s to my local iTunes Library.
If I remove the tick from the manage my music box, then it poops out a message saying that the changes will erase everything will then sync with my work macbook.
Obviously I don't want to do that.

I want to be able to freely move my Mp3s around the place (after all I did buy them :pac:) but I don't want to loose what I have if I change my settings.

uninstall iTunes....The touch should be read as another hard drive and you SHOULD be able to transfer your music

and does this work in the other direction?
Can you drag and drop (copy) music from any drive to a ipod touch without the need for itunes?

yes but i'm not sure if they'll play....It'd be like saving them to flash drive

On an ipod your music is cleverly filed away to deter you from removing the tracks. Your best bet is to download a third party app from the web to do it. Senuti is best on a mac and i think anapod is good on windows.

i think the tracks are spread across a few of them though and your albums are mixed up. Something like that anyway.

if you reinstall iTunes and just add the top folder it sorts 90-95% of them out
