    Howdy,

Myself and the girlfriend went to Egypt last year… We went to Sharm El Sheik which is along the Red Sea to the north of the country, if you want to visit all the pyramids and stuff you would want to be a lot closer – say Cairo or Luxor. We had not interest in visiting all this however and just stayed around the resort & surrounding towns for the week.

We stayed in an all inclusive resort outside Sharm El Sheik – she was more interested in getting a tan and I was more interested in getting drunk so all went to plan! We did a bit of snorkeling which has to be done, really should have went scuba diving too as the Coral Reefs are out of this world!

Depends what you want really; if you want to go visit all the cultural stuff then further south would be advised. Daily trips were out going from where we were, but involved a lot of travel. So we didn’t bother

The locals – I would have mixed views on them, the staff 100% - they need to be, very friendly, trustworthy (I dropped my wallet near pool table – staff kept it safe) and really genuine. However outside the hotel / resort the locals are the opposite, the men are very pervy towards women so beware. Also they can be very intimidating when you’re in shops etc, even at the airports they are insisting tips for putting your luggage onto the bus… They can somewhat aggressive too at times if your not spending money in their shops but don’t let that put you off… A simple NO usually works...

Great Weather and Culture and plenty to do… but at the end of the day – every holiday is only what you make it!!
