    Hi,

I got a Dragon Hi Capa for Christmas but I am selling it to get funds for another airsoft.

There seems to be an issue with it which from what I have been told, is easy to fix, but Im not confident to go messing with it. From what im told, there is an issue with the leaf spring. The slide seems to lock back.

Im selling the hicapa and mag for €110 as its only had 2 mags put through it when problem started. Im sure someone here could fix it in 2 minutes flat.
Its in perfect condition (no scratches). Never skirmished.

Im retracting (no pun intended) this sale as I have taken Motosams advice. Showed it to a guy in Eirsoft when I was in Dublin. He fixed it temporarily, but all it needs is a new leaf spring.

    Thanks for the interest.

You should be able to reshape the leaf spring, unless it actually broke.

A we tech 1911 or one of the hi-capas in eirsoft would have an identically shaped leaf spring, just match that.

If that doesnt fix it, it isnt your leaf spring that has failed.

The leafspring has been reshaped and worked temporarily. However its the same again now. Tbh, the leafspring has been bent one way, then back the other, so its not as strong as it should be. Thanks motosam for all your help.

when I reshaped it for ya i did it with heat., that way its not as likely to elasticate back to the way it was so it should be fine but i'd get a new one anyway, also i think youtr mag leaks a little and thats why its not racking as strongly as it shoud., :)

I was trying to put the face to the Boards ID, hehe. thanks vtec for having a look. I did notice the racking is out a bit, but thought it was part of the overall problem. I may try get my hands on a leafspring somewhere, no credit card. Chrono'ed at 280 when I got home, with a dodgy leafpring. But dont think the fps will get better with a new leafspring, could be wrong. Its rated at 300.

This thread is gettin off topic so I'll leave it at that.
    Cheers vtec. :pac:

You'd want to polish the slide rails, that will help cycling.

The leaf spring can be bent by hand as its moves so little in use, when you bend it, it is more likely to bend again, but in the leaf springs case, it does not move enough for it to happen again.

I gave this some thought yesterday, its to do with where you pass the elasticity modulus and reach the plasticity modulus (permanent bending).

On that particular part, hand bending is a possibility, do it over the length of the arm, as it will put less strain on one area.

I did alot of reshaping of that part before on my hi capa, they can take alot of fidling to get to work properly, as Ive said before.

I like to think I know those hi capas inside out, literally.
