The Yanks have long complained that Galileo is a waste of money, simply duplicating their existing GPS network. But then you get to see the buckos in charge of GPS ...

Giove B due for launch at the end of this month.

Of course Galileo is a good Idea.

Only a few bits of Yank Tech are good and much there is inefficeient and obsolete. Europe is much more Tech Advanced as ESA ATV shows. Apricot PCs where much more advanced than any of the PC compatible rubbish...

PC, x86 and Windows has held back Computing Software & Architecture development for 20 years...

    What did they hold back?

    Windows type GUI 1976
LINUX / UNIX Style OS 1970s
    Multiprocessor systems 1986
Compilers / Languages with Objects, Generic Programming, no buffer over run vulns. Security, multitasking, and verifiable designs: 1982 to 1987

If MS/IBB/Intel had not dominated we would have had what we have now maybe by 1982.

The PC platform and most compilers is still rubbish for Multiprocessor.
