I've spent the past two summers working in an Irish bar in Nice. The best way to pick up work is to go over and speak in person to the manager. Most places are looking for people for at least a year, I was lucky the first year that a vacancy came up when I was available.

In Nice the busiest of the Irish/English bars are Ma-Nolan's, Wayne's and probably Checkpoint. There are a couple of other Irish bars though McMahon's and Paddy's being the best of them. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and best of luck, it's a great way to spend a summer in a beautiful part of the world.

I haven't been there for a couple of months so I'm not aware of any jobs that may be available. As I said the best way to get work is to be there. That's the way it works, if there's a job available and you're there you'll get a trial.

Try to get over before the colleges finish for the summer as there will be an influx of people meaning less chance of work, April or early May should be fine. If you can afford to stay without work for three or four weeks you'll have more chance of picking up something as some places have quite a high turnover of staff.
