what is a Ganger

Hi Guys looking at Job vacancys in my county council and one of the jobs is Position of Ganger, can any one tell me what kind of work a Ganger does. Thanks Guys.

Typically a ganger runs a work party. They're normally answerable to a foreman on a job.
