Comuting from Thurles to Cork

    Hi im living in Thurles and im currently working in Waterford i commute to Waterford daily which takes me 1hr 30 ,Im now after getting offered a job in Wilton Cork and im thinking of commutting there roughly i just like to know would Cork be a longer or shorter distance than waterford from Thurles

    longer as far as I recall.

    Most trips take just over 2 hours at least as best as I can remember.

    I'd say it'd take a good bit more than 1 hour 30 as it takes me an hour to get to fermoy...

    I drive from Athlone to Cork (via Thurles) weekly, and the Thurles - Cork part of the journey takes pretty much exactly 1 hour 30 min. It may be a little more for you depending on traffic in Wilton area.

    It would be a longer drive than to Waterford but the roads are better so you can make good progress. Bare in mind you would be paying a toll twice a day for the M8 (€1.90 each way), unless you want to drive through Fermoy but that would add lots of time.

    I wouldnt like to be driving that daily!

    You'd have to drive across the city - once you get down to the Kinsale Road Roundabout the traffic's ok, but before that... nightmare.
