Went to see Son of Rambow last night. Really enjoyed it. A lovely little movie. It was nice to see a neutral british comedy that didnt revel in its britishness like many others in the same category. (Although i wonder if that had anything to do with the fact they couldnt get any funding in the UK and had to go abroad?)

The performances by the kids, particularly the bully, were top class.

Anyone else seen it? How did the kid's performance compare to other child actors in your eyes?

I also liked the film quite a bit (posted a thread over in the reviews forum). Thought the two main actors were excellent. I thought the guy who played Joe Carter was annoying at first, but I think he becomes far more likable as the film progresses and you learn more about his character and why he acts the way he does. Will was very good too, playing a very innocent character overwhelmed by his 'coming of age' (to use the generic adage).

Not a film that will change the world, but a very entertaining watch.

What a brilliant film! Was much better than expected, and the two central actors were really excellent.
