I am working in a job as an external contractor for a major US manufacturing company in the west of Ireland. I have been there almost 10 months now, on a week to week basis.Technically speaking, while I work in the company, I am not employed by them. I am employed by an external agency.

I have recently heard that the maximum length of time that a person can be kept like this is 11 months. Then the manufacturing company itself either have to make you an employee of theirs or let you go. Does anyone know if this is true or can this situation just keep going for an indeterminate length of time?
