If you go to Microsoft's site and have a look under the Office section, there are stacks and stacks of templates available.

    Or indeed, google image search:

    http://images.google.ie/images?hl=en&q=invoice&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Not all are nessicarily good, but you'll get the idea.

    Headed paper always looks better.

Why not get an accounting package suck as Quickbooks? Lots of templates there and the benefits of haveing accounts and returns done at the end of the year as well as invoicing :)
Cheap too at around €70 ....beats paying an accountant to do it!!

Long story short, you need to request money from your client.
Best case, you'll get it after 6 weeks.

    1. Cost to cover event (€70)
    2. Mileage 46 miles (0.92 per mile)

    Basic example...

    Everyone pays VAT!

If you're not VAT registered however, you don't charge VAT.
Doesn't matter if you're a Photographer, or a petrol pump attendant!

I give out invoices ten times a day.

Eh accounting for the client and you? Remember accountancy in school? Remember double entry book-keeping (Yeah, I was asleep as well), but that little section that you enter expenditures in.... well it's handy for your client to have a paper trail for these little entries irrespective of whether VAT is charged or not. Just in case the crooks up in revenue decide to do an audit.

Plus, when you do your tax return (ahem) at the end of the year you want to be able to tell exactly how much you earned so you can enter the correct figure in the income section on your return form.

Not to mention the fact that it tells them you want your money, and what for!!

Sorry to drag up an old thread but didnt want to start a new one on a topic so similar

When filling up an invoice and if you are not registered for VAT, should your final total show a plus vat figure or should you mention VAT?
