    Junction and Mantrap Recordings present…

    “Ear Cycle ep” launch

    Friday, April 18th

    Rory St John (LIVE)
    Fran Hartnett
    Kachanski (LIVE)
    Red Monk
    Stam – Junction resident
    Doors: 10pm – late
    Admission: 10 euro
    No Scarves

Following the storming launch party in December and a period where the first release by Magnetize infiltrated the worldwide electro community, Man Trap return with the launch of their next 12” - this time from Dublin producer Rory St John. Long overdue a record release, it’s not an understatement to say that Rory is one of techno’s most exciting new talents, let alone being one of Ireland’s best. Support to his “Ear Cycle ep” has already come from Dave Clarke, Jerome Hill, Paul Mac... to mention a few; with more plays and feedback being registered thick and fast.

Joining Rory on the bill will also be Fran Hartnett. Long established as one of the must-see techno DJs around, Fran never fails to impress; and with recent sets veering towards a more hybrid DJ/live performance, it will be interesting to see what he decides to inflict upon us for this one!

Also playing live, for only his second time in public, is Kachanski aka Conor Hinfey. Last seen closing the night for Stasis at their Boxcutter gig, Conor obviously revels in the big occasion – and his mashed up blend of crunchy, intricate breakbeats, leads a perfect demonstration of old and nu skool styles combined.

Redmonk is one of the main instigators of !Kaboogie, one of the city’s most exciting clubnights. As resident DJ at both the !Kaboogie and Wobble nights, Redmonk is renowned for his earth shattering bass attacks which have also been felt in Barcelona and Turin. Check out his chart below for a taster of what to expect from the holy one:

    Clark - Violenl (Warp)
Zomby - Spliff Dub - Rustie Remix (Hyperdub)
    Cloaks - Junk (Dub)
Hektagon - Running Through (Audio Freaks)
Dabrye feat MF Doom - Air - Kode 9 Remix (Ghostly International)
    Thatboytim - Midnite Creep (Dub)
Peverelist - Infinity is Now (Tectonic)
    Rusko - BetaMax (Verilo)
Rory St John - Ear Cycle (Dodgy Russian Bootleg I Got Six Months Ago)
Riko - Ice Rink Vocal (Soul Jazz)

Opening up the night is Junction resident Stam, who always sets the tone perfectly for what lies ahead. Maybe one these days he will take on a later slot, but with so few DJs being able to lay down the deep grooves well, it is always re-assuring to know that Stam is at hand!

So that’s the lot, hope to see you down for this special occasion, to experience a fine cross section of what’s bubbling in Dublin right now.
All according to plan, copies of Rory St John’s “Ear Cycle ep” will be available to buy (and at a special knock down price) on the night too. See you there!
