    Yo,
I have a HD tv with hdmi, vga, s-video, av and dvi inputs, i have been connecting my computer through the vga input simply because i already had the cable, does anyone know which connection will give me the best/clearest picture?
My graphics card is a geforce 6600 with vga, dvi, av and s-video and i can get the resolution to 1440 X 900 through vga.

    thanks :)

a DVI -> HDMI cable should allow you to output HD to your TV. 720 or 1080 depending on your TV.

A straight DVI cable will also work. I've only tried the DVI-HDMI cable though, and that lets the PC detect the TV connected to it and the graphics card software will let you select the resolutions that your TV can display.
DVI cable will probably give slightly better picture than VGA, but probably not noticable.

VGA is sufficient to give a full HD display. I would disagree with your statement. DVI is digital, VGA is analog, but that doesn't mean that the analog is crap. If you check with the guys over in the Xbox forum you'll see that they can get excellent picture from VGA. Maybe some TV's handling of the VGA signal is worse than others, but you can get perfect quality from VGA, even better than full HD. Just look at a monitor capable of 1900 x 1440 display connected via VGA.
