Incredible so it is, especially those slightly crunchy but creamy cleans on the Bristish combo. But the problem is, does any larger amp(50 watts or higher) also possess this tone Im looking for? Im playin a Fender Mex.

Mic it up or use the recording out into the PA. :D

Since you like the "British combo" (Vox AC30TB) why don't you try out one of vox's amps? I have the vox Ad50VT and it does a great job of creating that Brit Combo sound. It's similar to the microcube's, but a bit nicer and bass-heavier.

    Cube 30?

Yeah... don't Roland make proper size amps too? Like the Cube 30 as Feyla said? I'm nearly sure a mate of mine has a 100ish watt Roland amp that has all those fiddly mods and effects on it.

    Best thread ever.

Finally, the day has come when somebody is trying to re-create that classic Microtube Tone!!!

The Cube does sound fine through the recording out to a PA

That 'Microcube tone' is called modelling, any cheap modeller has 'tone' as good or better than it. Just find one that suits you in terms of size, power and budget and it should be grand.

If you think the Microcube has incredible tone, I really can't see you being dissapointed with ANY of the options out there. Roland Cube 60, or Vox, or any of them out there would be good choices.

I think the microcube does have a great tone. I've heard many recordings done with it and it sounds great. I have one myself but haven't used it in about 9 months due to lack of a guitar. :(

They do a Cube 60. Maybe they should model the Micro on their bigger amps?

    Modelling a modelling amp?

    Now we're getting somewhere!

Possibly, but you will never really re-create the digital warmth of the Microtube...
