Supporters Clubs??? Opinions??

    Looking at the various clubs that are on offer in the college at the moment, I noted that there was no club of my awareness anyway for particular sets of supporters of different sports. I was just wondering if there would be any interest in the college ,*(not this year as it is too late but maybe next year) if there was to be supporters clubs set up for sports such as soccer, rugby, G.A.A, whatever the sport is that warrants it's own club.

    Personally i thought that it would be a grand idea if maybe we were to have supporters clubs who could perhaps meet up, wherever, be it the Dome or another location to watch matches. It could have great benefits in the sense that you could meet lots of new people and friends who share a similar interest to yourself. The supporters club could perhaps organize places for the club exclusively where members of a club may get to watch a match in comfort and among fellow supporters. It is a great atmosphere to be among supporters, having the craic, enjoying the banter and maybe even singing a few anthems during the matches. Personally i think there is nothing worst than watching a match on a small TV without having a bit of a laugh.

    It's only an idea at the moment and yes would involve a lot of planning but if such clubs were to be set up and became popular, perhaps we could come to some arrangement that makes sorts it so supporters clubs could watch games week in and week out in whatever location provided they are being televised:D Maybe if the club was popular enough over time we could organize some trips to see games/events relevant to the club supporters are in.

    Could be a great way to meet new people, let off a bit of stress, dependent on what team you support :D and basically just enjoy games with people who get just as obsessed about the team and games as you ;)

    So what are people's thoughts about the whole thing? Dependant on the results up here, I may pursue it further. Would be handy if people could reply with there opinion either in favor of or against, or suggestions as to what clubs would require establishment?
