Not sure if this is the correct forum for this but anyway....

As the festival season fast approaches it's important to make your camping experience as much craic as possible, with that in mind I have compiled a list of essentials that I will be bringing along - does anyone else have a similar list to compare and contrast or does anyone have any suggestions for something I may have left off??

    Mobile Phone

    Camping -
    Tent + Extra pegs

    Wellies
    Warm hat
    Sunglasses
    Sun hat

    Antibacterial Handwash & Babywipes
    Plasters
    Headache tablets
    Dioralite
    Borocca
    Alka seltzer
    Imodium

    Eat & Drink -
    Booze
    Cereal bars
    Crisps
    Lucozade

It's big as in there's a lot of items on the list but most of them aren't heavy/physically big!

With the addition of an eyemask to your prudent earplugs, you're fit to snooze anywhere, any time of day, in any conditions.

Aside from that, most of my essentials are covered in that first list

    + headtorch
    + condoms
/ one good poncho rather than pants and a jacket, rainwise
    + gazebo for the campsite
    + day-bag

I'd be laying off the drink or something if your planning on being that sick.

    Ticket
    Beer
    Cider
Money to buy more beer and cider

Anything more is just a waste of effort carrying it.

Wud it be handy to have a backpack to carry stuff in when going to see bands?

NO! backpacks get in everyone's way at festivals. Pockets for cash & phone are all you need.

mmkay so what about carrying raingear?

I usually have a backpack on me whilst wandering around, but then I don't tend to go anywhere near the front of the stages and chill out at the back making use of the extra "supplies" that I have stashed in my bag.

Thinking of trying to go a bit more minimalist this year and possibly dispense with the daypack though, but there are a few things I cannot medically be without during a days worth of getting wasted in a field and not sure that I have enough pockets.

are the sleeves on your raingear long enough you can tie it round your waist if necessary??

fair enough if you're the guy who stands towards the back with his backpack on the ground but there's nothing worse than someone's gear taking up space right in front of the band (sorry - it's my pet hate at gigs)
