Problems Opening Legible Attachments Help

    Sorry if asked before, Did search but could not find anything useful.

    Anyway
    Cannot open any readable/ legible attachments in my e-mail, they just all open with numbers ,letters and graph like signs all over them. My email is yahoo and I am using Vista if that helps.
    Sorry if question and solution is basic , but I am not a Tech Head.
