I've tuned in my tv (up north here) got bbc, itv, rte, tg4....all great.

tv has built in freeview. with dvb autosetup. BUT majority of freeview stations signal strenth is excellent, bbc3, sky sports, music etc BUT itv, itv2, itv4, e4 signal strenth is v poor....

i cant understand why the freeview has great signal strength on same channels and not so good on others ?

    any help ?

    thanks

    Hi,
BBC, Sky News/Sports News, some Music are 16 QAM and others, ITV, 4, FIVE etc are 32 QAM (they're sending the 'bits' of data at twice the rate). Normally this would present as lower signal quality, as opposed to lower signal strength, but it may be a factor. If you're getting the Sky channels then I assume you have the correct aerial (ie group K or wideband). Are you getting much break up or pixelation on these channels ?
