    Not true. You will still need permission from the Super.

    You're mixing it up with the restricted list, .22lr moderators are not going to be restricted but that doesn't mean you won't need permission.

    Hopefully.

    Maybe one day the DoJ/Gardai will wake up and realise that it's the gun that can pose a threat, not anything you attach to it. :rolleyes:

    Why was it no use, i was looking at one myself but presume it will only moderate with subsonic rounds

    Parker Hale is only designed for sub.'s. SAK or Jet Z for high and/or hyper velocity

    bunny made good point -- actually never even tried anything else than sub with my parker hale

    just new it wont work :D - i was told to use sub - and i did

    i use a parker hale on my cz .22 aswell and its completly silent when i use remington or winchester subs, a seriously smooth operator!! :cool:

    I filled in the new application form and ticked the silencer box option (it was silencer wasnt it?).

    Anyway the local Garda phoned me and wants a letter from the firearms dealer declaring that the Moderator can only be used in the .22 cal rifle I have.

    He wants this letter before sending off my application.

    Its a Parker Hale Moderator so I presume it wont do anything but a .22lr?

    It's designed for .22lr subsonics only ;)

    ive a SAK and maks no difference if using HV, only works on subs
