Thank god this eyeswore is being demolished. I saw it begin this morning but I assumed they were only stripping the exterior "covering".

I'm not sure the vans are for a demolition company and they have already removed windows etc

Excellent. I wondered how they planned on making anything out of it. Its an eyesore but a landmark that is going to be remembered for years!

Someone told me the other day it cost IR£4.5 million in the early 90's

i thought it cost around £3m.

anyway it's good to see it go as it is such an eyesore, but in saying that i had some of the best nights of my life in that place, many unforgettable memories.

Ahh Celtworld. I remember going there on a school tour as a wee lad.

Remember the talking heads..? Brilliant stuff for a kid.

The one thing I -do- miss is Laserworld. Is there anything like that in Tramore anymore?

Laserblast is the new Laserworld based in the Industrial Estate. As many well tell you, I love it.

Its a pitty Celtworld died so quickly, I thought it was grand!

It was never going to succeed

At the time, it was a good idea though. Perhaps in todays age, it would not be suited.

South though, that died very quickly. I think there is potential for such a place in Tramore if run properly.

For South? I don't agree, it was far too big.

It may be full on a hanful of nights a year if they can attract big acts but for somewhere that opened every Saturday night it was too big for a town the size of Tramore
