The Bad Guys??

    What is your opinon on the new arrivals on the island.Is Ben telling the truth when he says they are the good guys.Lost has a habit of making out someone to be the bad guy and then they turn out to be the good guy. For example when Shannon couldn't find her inhaler and everyone thought it was sawyer until the end.

    Any opinons?

    I don't think Faraday, Charlotte, et al are bad/evil as such but I certainly believe Ben when he says their mission poses a threat to the island and everyone on it. Those mercenary-type guys on the freighter are definitely bad news and were almost certainly the shooters at the end of 4x08. (It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, the island's so called "security system" will have to say about their arrival :D).

    But I reckon the "Four horsemen" as it were may turn out to be future allies to the losties. The real question mark right now is over their employer. Widmore's no good guy that's for sure but is he the big villain in all this? I'm not so sure.

    I assumed the shooters at the end of 4x08 were the remaining "Others". Danielle et al were heading for their hideaway so it would make sense that they had some sort of defense in place and don't forget that the last time they had contact with the losties they were blown up and shot so it's understandable that if they weren't very welcoming :D.

    Of course the fact that Danielle, Alex and the boyfriend immediately take advice and instructions from Ben (who has, after all, proven to them repeatedly that he's deceitful, manipulative and untrustworthy) without so much as a pause shows how daft the storyline has become.
