    Hi,

Im considering doing a reserach MA in DIT. . . anyone have any experinces of doing one or something similar there?

It will be in the Business Faculty - Aungier Street. I've been there for 5 years doing a degree and curretnly a p/t Diploma. '

I'm just not really sure to the full extent, what a reserach masters involves!

    Any info would be great

    Thanks in advance

Why dont you go into the library and ask to have a look at some Masters theses and that will give you an idea as to what is involved. You can look on the library catalogue and pick out one that interests you or that is similar to the topic you are choosing to research. You can get it out for 3 hours at the library desk. It will depend on the supervisor really how much help and guidance you will get. There doesnt seem to be any hard and fast rules on that. They may run a course for post-grads on research methods...like how to design a questionnaire, write a literature review, statistics that kind of thing that you would have to attend for a few hours a week for the first semester but after that its up to you to get the thing written. Keep an eye out for Strand 1 Masters programmes advertised at ITs as they are paid in addition to any grant you get ( I think about 10k a year). You might see one that would interest you. The hardest thing is disciplining yourself to do the work, especially if you are doing it part-time and have other commitments. Best of luck with it anyway.
