Watching YouTube on Sony Ericsson k850i

I've got a data package with O2, and in most places I get the "H" icon on my phone to tell me I am in a mobile broadband area and I'm connected fine.

But I can't see YouTube videos on this phone. I can browse to YouTube, I can click on a video, I've changed the Streaming Settings and chosen O2 Ireland as the provider (or do I need to manually create one and in that case, what are the settings)?

But it doesn't work. First it tells me it's accessing the streaming server, then it tells me the server is found, then a "video" screen appears as if it's ready to go

and then it just sits there. And sits there. And sits there.

    No video.

    Anyone!?

btw. I've googled myself silly on this. Went to m.youtube.com/app which tells me my phone is not supported, BUT I also found several discussion board threads where people with k850i phones state that they CAN watch youtube videos.

So I'm tearing my hair out here.

I use an Internet Profile with the APN of open.internet to get the youtube website on my K850i

    Erm....

Any idea of the settings for same? It's asking for a username, a password, login request (on or off), an IP address, DNS address, Authentication (none?), etc...?

3G over open.internet on O2 is working for me now. It never used to work even with open.internet !

How do you know what mode you're in? In the top of my screen it shows me an "H" icon, which suggests to me that it's in HSDPA mode? It's working fine for me on that. Or am I missing something? I probably am, I'm a total n00b at this :D

Hi there - what other settings were you using under 'Streaming'? Using the APN 'open.internet' still yields a failure message, with and without all the standard O2 user/proxy settings.

    Cheers.
